Why Community Speed Awareness Signage?
Recent studies found that drivers are distracted more than half the time they are behind the wheel. Not willfully endangering the public, just trying to get home and get on with busy lives but potentially jeopardizing community safety.
Studies have also shown that accidents are more likely to occur within 5 miles of our homes. Drivers are more likely to switch to ‘auto-pilot’ in familiar surroundings, potentially resulting in subconscious changes in speed.
Community Speed Awareness Signage helps to alert drivers when they have unknowingly gone above the posted speed limit and encourage behavioral change, helping to keep the communities that we live in safe.
